Eggplant & Amazake Sauce

servingsEggplant served with a simple amazake sauce you can prepare in advance and store. The recipe is from one of my all-time favourite cook books: 野菜料理とヘルシーソース(Vegetable Cuisine and Healthy Sauces).
Ingredients
- Amazake Sauce
1 cup amazake
1/2 cup soy sauce
ground piece of fresh ginger root
1 ground clove of garlic
2 tsp sesame seeds
- Eggplants
4 small eggplants
optional: chopped spring onion
Directions
- Amazake Sauce
- Mix all ingredients.
- Eggplants
- Cut incisions into eggplant.
- Steam until tender.
- Cover with amazake sauce and spring onion.
